Wild Cub

The Nashville group Wild Cub is an electro pop duo consisting of singer Keegan Dewitt and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Bullock. Wild Cub released their debut LP Youth back in August.

Youth is a wealth of unexpected sonic experiences. Intricate blends of musical inspirations and soulful vocals that effortlessly pull you into Wild Cub’s welcoming haze. -KickKickSnare

Here is my favorite track from Wild Cub's debut LP. "Thunder Clatter" is a fast paced folk tune, and gives off an indie pop feel with positive vibes, setting a bright and uplifting mood with its bouncing beat. Listen below:

You will also want to check out, "Straight No Turns," another track from the album Youth"This is a straight up smooth dance jam...Wild Cub takes their time easing into the bulk of this track, slowly but surely layering each effect on top of each other until soon you have a thick and lustrous dance track on your hands." -Indie Shuffle

Abadabad - All The Bros Say

Transitioning now from my recent spurt of synthpop posts, to a song that just makes me feel comfortable when I listen to it. Abadabadone of NME’s Top 100 New Bands for 2012, has a sound that fits into the surf-rock genre, producing sunny, vibrant grooves that give you a dream like feeling.

Listening to "All The Bros Say" will have you wishing it was summer again. Luckily for us here in Texas, and I say lucky because I am not a fan of the cold, we are still experiencing shorts and t-shirt weather. For the rest of you, this song will help you dance through the cold and have you looking forward to the warm months ahead.

"All The Bros Say" is a hazy, reverb heavy track with sun-kissed guitar strums and emotional lyrics. Listen to it below:

Abadabad's debut EP, The Wild, has a vintage feel and is full of jangly, spacey vibes, stream it here

AlunaGeorge

AlunaGeorge is an electro-soul duo from UK with Aluna Francis on vocals and George Reid in music production. This newly formed group, together just barley a year, have been creating an abundance of infectious mixes fusing Francis’ sweet contagious vocals with George's hushed electronic techniques.

You can expect their full-length debut album in June of 2013.

It has been a big year for AlunaGeorge. They have already been named in the longlist for BBCs Sound of 2013 and nominated for the Critics Choice Award at next year’s BRIT Awards. Also,
BBC and Hype Machine have revealed AlunaGeorge as the most blogged-about artist in the UK in 2012. The list includes names like: #3 Lana Del Rey, #21 The xx, #22 SBTRKT, and #25 Grimes. See the full list here

Here is one of their newest releases, a very sexy chilled out R&B/pop tune.

Listen to "Watching Over You" below:

"Your Drums, Your Love," released earlier this year, combines smooth R&B and soulful electro pop. Watch the video below:

They have quite a bit of remixes on the band's soundcloud, including one from Friendly Fires, listen to them all here.

If you want to see AlunaGeorge live, you can view their European tour dates here.

Body Weather

I considered sharing this electro duo over summer, but was still on the fence about it until now. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. I'm talking about Sunless '97 and their uniquely catchy song "Body Weather."

This upbeat tune "is five minutes of impossible catchiness––it initially seems impossible that something so strange could be so catchy, but lo and behold." -PMA

Keeping in tune with a sexy and weird theme, "Body Weather" starts off nice and slow with drifting ethereal sounds and builds into a wonderful uplifting crescendo with astonishing psychedelic vocals before introducing a gloriously intertwined Saxophone solo.

Listen to "Body Weather" below:

You can check out some of their other music on the band's Facebook page here

Ghost Loft

Los Angeles based producer Danny Choi is the guy behind the Chillwave / Sexwave act known as Ghost Loft. His music fits into the emerging Hip-Hop / PBR&B genre (think The Weeknd) but with more of an ambient, ethereal sound (think JJ).

It's that combination of slick and simple yet intelligent beats that make up "Seconds."

Ghost Loft has released just 3 singles so far, "Seconds" is my favorite of the the tracks. You can listen to them all below:

Ghost Loft remains unsigned, for now, and Choi is waiting to design more music before he sets out on any live shows.

David Wax Museum

The David Wax Museum is a band from the Boston area that fuses the sounds of traditional Mexican folk music and Americana.

New York Times writer James C. McKinley Jr. described the band's style as "a lively and rustic cross-border mix: lonesome Appalachian harmonies over mariachi horn lines and rhythms you might hear at a rural dance in Veracruz or San Luis Potosí."

Below you can watch the two new music videos for folk band David Wax Museum's new single, "Will You Be Sleeping."

"Each music video represents a dreamscape for one of the band members. The result is a trippy, beautiful and slightly unnerving journey into the world of Suz and David -- the duo that makes up David Wax Museum. These videos are unbelievably cool and the net effect is more like a short film than a music video. Check out both parts." - Mashable

So, after seeing these videos, along with Twin Shadow's approach to creating music videos, what do you think of the way indie acts are breaking ground with music video direction and design? Let me know in the comments.

Future Screens

Future Screens are an up-and-coming Indie flavoured SynthPop group from Brooklyn

Listen to their debut single 'Don't Stop' below. It's got that hazy synth bass and chillwave vibe with an infectious melody. Neon Gold says, "It's a near-perfect wedding of Manners-era Passion Pit and the blissful etherea of The Sound of Arrows."

Did you dig it? Get your free download of this track from the bands Facebook page here

You can also check out the tour dates here. They will be playing at the Cameo Gallery in Brooklyn, NY on January 4th.

Pacific Air

Update: KO KO, a band I shared with you back in Mayhas signed to Universal Republic and changed their name to Pacific Air. So if you didn't catch it the first time around here is your chance to listen to 'Float'. It is such a lovely song you don't want to miss this one!

Random side note: there are some pretty cool electro and chillstep remixes to this song if your into that and in the mood for browsing YouTube, it puts a nice little uppity spin on the song.

Here is another romantic tune from Pacific Air, listen to 'Roses' below.

Also, fans of Passion Pit are in luck, because they’ll have Pacific Air opening for them. Full tour dates can be found on the bands Facebook page, and they are pairing up with some pretty awesome bands like Two Door Cinema Club, Walk the Moon, and Ra Ra Riot, so check it out!
